Professional Experience
August 2005 to Present: Children's Resource Group, Indianapolis, IN. Primary duties include psychological evaluations and psychotherapy of adolescents and adults.
August 1999 to August 2005: Psychiatric and Counseling Services, Bloomington, IN. Primary duties include individual psychotherapy and psychodiagnostic testing with adolescents and adults. Groups for adolescents and young adults. Member of the PACS Patient Care Committee, 2001 to present, Chair 2001-2001. Supervising Indiana University doctoral students in practicum placements.
August 1997 to July 1999: Fayette Memorial Hospital, Connersville, IN. Responsible for all psychodiagnostic testing for the Whitewater Valley Care Pavilion, a psychiatric hospital serving children aged 8 to 18. Psychotherapy and psychodiagnostic testing for outpatient referrals of all ages.
August 1994 to July 1997: Indiana Solders’ and Sailors’ Children’s Home, Knightstown, IN. Primary duties as staff psychologist included individual, group, and family therapy, and staff consultation. Appointed to position of Director of Student Services in August of 1995 with responsibilities including supervision of staff in counseling, social work, and residential life sections; staff training and education; and program management and development.
September 1992 to June 1994: Topeka State Hospital, Adolescent Section, Topeka, KS. Primary duties included individual therapy, process groups, psychoeducational groups, and psychodiagnostic testing. Supervised psychology interns in APA-Approved Pre-Doctoral Psychology Internship Program. Served as adolescent section liaison to the TSH Clinical Director, coordinated multidisciplinary treatment groups for the four adolescent units, and chaired weekly adolescent section staff meetings.
August 1991 to August 1992: APA-Approved Clinical Internship, Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center, Topeka, KS. Rotations on Acute Inpatient, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Outpatient Mental Health Units. Provided individual therapy, psychoeducational groups, and process groups. Conducted a support group for patient families. Extensive work in psychodiagnostic testing.
July 1985 to July 1986: The High Frontier, Fort Davis, TX. Served as residential counselor at this treatment facility for emotionally disturbed adolescents. Responsible for individual and group care and counseling for up to 12 adolescents in a living unit.
